Dupo, IL (July 17, 2018) The POWRi National Midget League’s second annual Thunder in the Valley weekend brought two straight nights of solid racing to Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri this past weekend. With a stout field of cars, Kyle Schuett and the Schuett Racing team were able to turn tough heat races each night into big charges and A-main top ten finishes. The Schuett Racing #9K was fast all weekend long and Kyle capitalized on his Stanton Racing horsepower and Bullet by Spike chassis to move through the tough field each night.
A high pill draw on Friday night and a third to third place run in Saturday’s heat race sent Kyle to the B-main both nights. Picking up a third-place finish in the B on Friday and a second-place finish on Saturday, Kyle secured himself a starting spot in each’s nights A-main event. On Friday, Kyle made an impressive run from 19th all the way up to a fourth-place finish. Saturday night, Kyle found himself starting 18th in the 30-lap A, and once again he charged forward ending his night and weekend with a 10th place finish.
In just a couple weeks on August 3rd and 4th, Kyle will return to I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri where he picked up a huge win last year in POWRi competition. This event is once again being held in conjunction with the World of Outlaws Ironman 55 event and will bring out a packed crowd from all across the Midwest. Kyle and the team are looking forward to their return to Pevely and hoping to come away with another great run.
