Inside Line Promotions – WILMOT, Wis. (June 16, 2020) – Kyle Schuett scored his first top-10 feature finish of the season last Saturday night while racing with the Bumper to Bumper IRA 410 Sprint Car Series at Wilmot Raceway.

“It was kind of an uneventful night,” Schuett said regarding his second career visit to the track. “We timed in pretty well, but missed the setup for the heat race. But we moved forward a bit in the feature so not too bad of a night.”

Schuett started 14th in the night’s 30-lap main event.

“We raced with Scotty Thiel and Joey Moughan for about 20 laps,” he said. “We were able to move up to eighth, but there was a car in front of us that had broken suspension parts; his left front was bobbing all over the track. He got in our way and two cars got by us on the bottom and that moved us back to 10th.

“We could’ve probably done better. It’s just hard to tell which way a car is going to go when it has broken parts and we got stuck behind him.”

Schuett’s night began with a solid qualifying effort.

“We timed seventh quickest out of 33 cars,” he said. “We were the 18th car to go out and were only two-tenths off quick time so that wasn’t too bad. We’re getting there.”

Schuett’s qualifying effort slotted him in the third starting spot in his heat race. He finished fourth to earn a position into the main event.

“It got really slick in the heat race and we missed the setup,” he said. “But we only fell back one spot so we felt fortunate about that.”

Schuett plans to carry momentum from the strong outing into a race this weekend, although the date and track are haven’t been decided.

“We plan to race, but we’re not sure where at the moment,” he said. “We’re watching a few things, including the weather, and plan to make a decision in the next day or two.”

“We’ve used AMSOIL exclusively since 2004 and I wouldn’t run anything else in my car,” Schuett said. “We use not only their engine oil, but their water coolant additive and gear oil as well. AMSOIL is at the top of the business for a reason.”
